FAQs
What is the purpose of scaffold banners?
Scaffold banners are a great way to advertise your construction company or brand your site. Scaffolding advertising is used to help attract new business whilst working on your current project. Scaffold banners are made from durable PVC making them ideal for multiple or long-term projects.
Scaffolding banner signs are typically hung from scaffolding or other temporary structures and secured in place by threading scaffold poles through the banner pockets provided. PVC mesh scaffolding banners feature thousands of tiny holes to allow airflow to pass through reducing wind loading on your scaffold structure.
Printed with high-visibility colours and graphics, scaffold advertising can easily be seen from a distance. Typically, scaffolding banners are designed to showcase:
- Your current project
- Your brand and contact details
- That you’re still open for business despite redevelopments

Below is an illustration to show how pole pockets would work for each option.
How to design a scaffold banner?
When it comes to scaffold banner design, less is more. You don’t have loads of room to play with so try to keep your message simple. The most successful scaffold banners tend to have a large logo and a large contact number. This approach will help your scaffolding banner be seen from a greater distance.
Below are 6 scaffold banner design tips to keep in mind:
- Keep your design simple and to the point
- Use large easy-to-read fonts and logos
- Use contrasting colours that can be seen from a distance
- Allow space for pole pockets on your design
- Ensure no critical information is within 10cm of the edge of your design
- Add a website address if it’s a short one

How easy are scaffold banners to install?
Scaffold banners are easy to install and remove when needed. Simply insert your scaffolding poles through the top and bottom pole pockets on your banner. You then increase the tension on your banner by adjusting the distance between the poles.
A tighter fit will prevent your scaffolding banner sign from flapping around and wearing away. Before installing, ensure your scaffold structure is capable of holding the weight and wind loading your scaffold banner will create.
How long do scaffold banners last?
The lifespan of your scaffold banners depends on three factors:
- Exposure to high winds, rain and extreme sunlight
- Incorrect or substandard fitting
- Proper care and maintenance
A well-made scaffolding banner can last for several years while banners that are exposed to harsh weather conditions aren’t likely to last as long. Scaffold advertising banners are made with strong PVC mesh to provide great durability and air permeability.
Please note that we can’t guarantee scaffold banners from damage due to high winds.
How to make scaffold banners last longer?
Keep your banners looking fresher for longer by following our three care tips below:
1. Ensure your scaffold banners are tightly fitted
Banners with loose fitting will flap and rub on scaffold poles increasing chances of your scaffold banner tearing or wearing away.
2. Fit your banners lower down your scaffolding
Displaying your banner at a lower height will reduce exposure to wind and rain. It will also be more visible to passersby and help potentially increase enquiries.
3. Regularly clean your banners
Scaffolding signs exposed to wind and rain can become dirty or grimy. Use a damp cloth to keep your scaffold banners looking great.
