Temporary noise barriers are growing in popularity across construction sites to help businesses comply with UK noise laws. Heras acoustic barriers help reduce noise pollution by up to 35 decibels. Construction acoustic barriers are often used at site perimeters or around high-decibel machinery. Made from sound-absorbing materials

Heras acoustic barriers feature a sound-absorbing high-density polyester core that is fully recyclable. Finished in a heavy-duty PVC, acoustical barriers are waterproof, fade-resistant for 5 years and conform to fire safety standards. Each acoustic barrier panel is fitted with 11 brass eyelets to help provide a secure fitting that maximises noise reduction.

Acoustic sound barriers offer 5-year fade resistance and typically last between 2 and 5 years depending on the conditions they’re exposed to.

Easy-install temporary acoustic barriers

Temporary acoustic barriers are easy to install on your Heras fencing or scaffolding using tie wraps and the eyelets provided. Quick to remove and stackable, acoustical barriers are simple to transport to different sites and projects. UK and European law dictates that workers and the wider community should not be exposed to more than 80 decibels per day. This limit is often exceeded by power tools at construction sites. As an employer, you must ensure these noise levels aren’t exceeded. Whilst ear defenders are an effective temporary solution, reducing the noise at the source is an effective way to protect your workers and maintain a good relationship with the wider community.

Heras Acoustic Barrier Panels

Heras acoustic barriers are available in the following sizes:

1.2 metres wide x 2.0 metres tall

This size will cover a third of a standard-sized Heras fence panel. This choice is ideal if you have a small area to cover or want to use multiple acoustic fence panels to display different messages.

 3.6 metres wide x 2 metres tall

This size will cover an entire Heras fence panel making it easier to install, remove and transport your acoustic noise barriers.

Scaffolding Acoustic Barrier Panels

Acoustic barriers are suited to scaffolding structures and are available in the two sizes below. Consider the area you want to cover and choose the appropriate size for you.

• 2.3 metres wide x 2 metres tall
• 2.5 metres wide x 2 metres tall

Before installing acoustic noise barriers, identify the locations on your site which cause the most noise pollution. Measure the area you must cover and choose the appropriate size and quantity of scaffold or Heras acoustic barriers required.

Noise barrier installation is quick and simple. Follow the steps below to ensure your acoustic sound barriers are installed correctly:

1. Start from one end of your scaffolding or Heras fencing, adding one panel at a time

2. Attach the top corner eyelet using a tie wrap

3. Work along the length of your barrier, attaching each eyelet for a secure fit

4. Add your next acoustic barrier panel, overlapping them using tie wraps through the middle eyelets and onto your fencing or scaffold structure

5. Check for where noise could potentially escape, adjusting your panels to create a tight seal to improve noise reduction

6. Repeat step 4 until you have covered the area where you want to reduce sound

How to maintain acoustic sound barriers

Temporary acoustic barriers typically last between 2 and 5 years depending on the weather and noise conditions they’re exposed to. Acoustic noise barriers have a 5-year UV resistance to help prevent your barriers from fading.

To keep your acoustic barriers in top condition, regularly check to ensure they’re securely fitted and show no signs of wear and tear. Clean with a soft damp cloth and warm soapy water to keep your acoustic barriers looking fresher for longer.

Similar to Heras fence covers, acoustic noise barriers are priced based on the number of panels purchased with discounts for larger quantities. Acoustical barriers can be purchased with Monster Mesh branding or custom-branded at a slightly higher price.

Here are a few artwork checks that will help process your order much faster:

• Images must be at least 50 dpi in resolution at print size
• Ensure all logos and text are in vector format
