FAQs
Are tie wraps the same as zip ties?
Tie wraps are a type of fastener that holds items together. Tie wraps are also known as zip ties, cable ties or wrap ties. All of these names are the same product. Tie wraps are primarily used for holding cables or wires together but have many other uses, including keeping site or event branding in place.
How strong are nylon zip ties?
When it comes to nylon cable tie strength, the wider the cable, the higher the tensile strength. Typically, 4.88mm tie wraps have a tensile strength of 22.2kg. This is typically how much weight each cable tie can hold. Consider the weight of your banner to calculate how many zip ties you will need to apply.
Are black zip ties stronger than white?
Black zip ties are more resistant to direct sunlight than white cable ties. White cable ties will typically last 3 months in intense sun while black cable ties should last a couple of years. We recommend using black tie wraps for outdoor use and either colour for indoor use.
How long do black zip ties last?
Black tie wraps can last up to 10 years. However, it is dependent on the weather conditions your zip ties are exposed to. If regularly exposed to intense sunlight or high winds, your tie wraps are likely to become worn out much quicker.
