Full-colour print backdrops and stage banners can be used both indoors and outdoors. Custom-made and printed to any size, band backdrops are non-reflective and will look amazing on photos. From a local pub to a major festival, we can help create a stage or theatre backdrop that will stand out.

Choice of 3 materials

Choose from 3 custom banner materials to suit your stage backdrop needs and budget:

1. 210gsm Display Polyester – a fabric banner ideal for indoor and outdoor use, soft handle polyester is engineered with crease recovery meaning your backdrop won’t need ironing before every use.

2. 115gsm Polyester Airmesh – dye sublimation printed with 90% show-through on reverse. This mesh banner material is air-permeable making it ideal for outdoor banners and stage backdrops.

3. 230gsm Heavy Polyester Mesh – a thicker, eco-friendly banner option suitable for larger banners and stage backdrops. 100% PVC-free and air-permeable making it ideal for event banners.

Use your backdrop for multiple events! Stage backdrops are B1 Fire Rated, lightweight and machine washable for long-lasting performance.

Choose your backdrop finishing

Stage backdrops come with a choice of two finishes:

1. Reinforced stitched hems with 500mm steel eyelets – ideal if you have a frame to attach your stage backdrop to. Fasten using tie wraps through each eyelet.

2. 100mm pole pockets along top and bottom edges – perfect if you have a pole or rail for your backdrop to slide onto. Thread your pole through each pocket for a secure fit.

Using your own artwork?

Here’s a few artwork checks that will help process your order much faster:

Images must be at least 50 dpi in resolution at print size
Ensure all logos and text are in vector format
Send over any CMYK colour references
Vector file formats accepted: PDF, SVG, EPS, AI
Image file formats accepted: PNG, JPG

What is a stage backdrop?

A stage backdrop is a large plain or printed piece of material that hangs at the back of a stage to highlight performers or custom messaging. Backdrops are used in a range of different settings including festivals, converts, conferences and more. Made from fire-retardant materials, backdrops brighten up and add depth to plain stage settings helping enhance your stage presence.

How big should a stage backdrop be?

Choosing the right size backdrop for your band or event is dependent on the venue your backdrop will be displayed at.

Using a backdrop that is too small will make it difficult for your audience to see your logo or message. However, a backdrop that is suited to stadiums or festivals will look too big and out of place in a small venue.

While we advise you create a banner that is sized to fit the venues you’ll display your backdrop at, here are some typical size guidelines to follow:

Small pubs and clubs: 2.4 metres (wide) x 1.8 metres (height)
Large pubs and small theatres: 3 x 2.4 metres
Concert halls and smaller festivals: 3.6 x 3 metres
Large concert halls, stadiums and festivals: 6 x 3.6 metres or 12 x 6 metres

What size backdrops can you make?

We can make custom stage backdrops of all shapes and sizes. Square or circle, small or large, get in touch with details and we’ll be happy to help!

What is the best material for band backdrops?

As bands and events often use the same backdrop for multiple venues, we recommend using 210gsm Polyester over any other materials. Our polyester backdrops are B1 fire rated, machine washable and made with engineered crease recovery making them much easier to use at multiple events.

If you’re looking for a PVC backdrop then feel free to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Can I have my stage backdrop in any colour?

Yes, you can have your stage backdrops printed in any colour. If you need any support or advice, don’t hesitate to email or give us a call.

Are stage backdrops see-through?

Polyester stage backdrops and banners aren’t see-through so you can rest easy knowing lights will be on your logos and messaging rather than the items behind them.

Are band backdrops fireproof?

Polyester backdrops are made with fire-retardant materials and B1 fire rated so you know they’re safe for all events you’ll use them for.

How do I keep a band backdrop crease-free?

Although stage backdrops are engineered with crease recovery, packing away your backdrop correctly is the best method to prevent creases. We recommend rolling up your backdrop rather than folding. If you have one to hand, roll your backdrop or banner around a sturdy tube for extra protection.
