Can you iron a fabric banner?
You can iron a fabric banner but you must be very careful to prevent damaging your banner. Here’s a step-by-step guide to ironing your banner:
- Turn on your iron and set it to the lowest possible heat setting
- Lay your banner on a flat surface such as an ironing board
- Smooth out your banners removing any wrinkles
- Slowly and gently iron your banner using medium-pressure

Proper fabric banner storage
Poor storage is the most common cause of creases on your custom-printed fabric banner. Instead of folding your banner or backdrop, roll them neatly so they remain crease-free. Avoid placing heavier items on your banner to ensure your banner doesn’t flatten and become creased.
Steam your fabric banner
Hang your flag in a similar way to how you’d steam clothes. Gently apply your steam to any wrinkles or creases to relax and flatten them out.
Use a hair dryer
Set your hair dryer to the lowest heat and run it along your flag from about 6 inches away, keeping it close enough to work but remaining safe. Similar to ironing, use a gentle back-and-forth motion to smooth out any creases.
Hang your fabric banner in the sun
Perhaps the simplest but most effective solution. If it’s sunny weather outside, lay your printed fabric banner on a flat area and leave it outside for the day. Don’t forget to anchor the corners down so your fabric banner doesn’t fly away!
