How much do Building Wraps Cost?

Building wraps typically cost from £13.82 per square metre, with total project prices ranging from a few hundred pounds to several thousand.

This guide explains exactly what affects the price of a building wrap, what you should watch out for, and whether it’s worth the investment.

If you already know your sizes, you can use the price calculator on our printed building wraps page.

What affects the cost of a building wrap?

1. Site Surveys (for large projects)

For large or high-rise scaffold wraps, a site survey is often recommended.

A survey helps to:

  • Ensure the scaffolding is secure and suitable
  • Take accurate measurements
  • Assess wind loading risks
  • Confirm installation requirements
  • Advise on material and finishing specification
  • Communicate scaffold criteria to contractors

Incorrect measurements can lead to costly reprints.

We are supply-only, but we can point you towards trusted professionals if a survey is required.

2. Building wrap size

Size is the biggest factor in cost.

Building wraps are priced per square metre. Larger wraps require:

  • More material
  • More ink
  • Longer print time
  • Stronger finishing

However, the cost per square metre often reduces as volume increases.

Bigger wraps cost more overall, but they are more cost-efficient per metre.

3. Material specification

We recommend 230gsm heavy polyester mesh for UK construction projects because it is:

  • 52% air permeable (reduces wind load)
  • Lightweight yet strong
  • Easier to handle and install
  • B1 fire rated
  • Eco-friendly and recyclable

Be cautious with cheaper alternatives. Always check:

  • Material weight per sqm (too heavy can strain scaffolding and eyelets)
  • Air permeability (you don’t want a giant wind sail)
  • Fire rating certification
  • Print method used

Ask suppliers for exact material specifications and request a colour proof if needed.

Choosing the wrong material may save money upfront, but can cause problems later.

4. Finishing & reinforcement

Finishing is critical for durability.

  • Under 25 sqm – Standard hems and eyelets (included in sqm rate)
  • Over 25 sqm – Keder reinforced hems recommended

Without reinforced Keder hems, large scaffold wraps are unlikely to survive UK wind conditions.

Reinforcement increases cost but significantly improves strength and lifespan.

Proper finishing, including reinforced hems and eyelets, is essential to ensure your wrap survives UK weather conditions.

5. Design & Artwork

Some suppliers charge for design services. We don’t.

Our in-house designers can create a building wrap that:

  • Looks professional
  • Improves brand perception
  • Maximises visibility at distance
  • Encourages enquiries

At large scale, design quality matters.

A poorly designed wrap can weaken the impact of your entire site.

6. Delivery

Delivery is:

  • £17.50 for orders under £250
  • Free for orders over £250 (UK mainland)

Express production is available and priced based on:

  • Size
  • Weight
  • Location
  • Urgency

7. Installation

Installation costs vary depending on:

  • Scaffold height
  • Access restrictions
  • Site complexity
  • Location

While we are supply-only, we can suggest reputable installers if required.

How to get an accurate price

To provide an accurate quote, you’ll need:

  • Required width and height
  • Required lead time
  • Any additional survey or project details

For large or complex projects, contact our team and we’ll guide you through the process.

Are building wraps worth the cost?

For many construction and refurbishment projects, yes.

Building wraps:

  • Hide day-to-day site activity
  • Protect against wind and weather
  • Improve site presentation
  • Contain dust and debris
  • Provide a large-format advertising platform

They also deliver continuous brand visibility for the duration of your project.

When compared to traditional advertising:

  • There is no ongoing media fee
  • One large wrap can deliver the visual impact of multiple billboards
  • Exposure runs 24/7

If your site is in a high-traffic location, the enquiries generated can often outweigh the initial cost.

With strong design and correct specification, a single building wrap can become one of the most cost-effective forms of large-scale construction branding.

In high-traffic urban areas, the brand visibility gained from a building wrap often delivers a higher return on investment than traditional billboards.

The key to choosing the right building wrap supplier is not solely purchasing on price. Ensure you have the right specification and print quality for safety, durability and visual impact.
